November 2010 Wider Impact commissioned to carry out research into understanding offender’s education, training and employment needs.
Wider Impact has been commissioned by Stoke on Trent College to carry out research into understanding offender’s education, training and employment needs and opportunities to support the development of initiatives to enhance offenders' ability to enter the Labour Market.
With an objective to support the Stoke on Trent based 'City Break' Project, aimed at supporting ex-offenders into employment, the commission involves surveying male and female offenders and ex-offenders inside and outside prison environments. The commission will also involve liaising closely with employers, education and agencies tasked with supporting offenders and ex-offenders.

October 2010 Wider Impact Director, Edwin Lewis, commissioned to facilitate an Advanced Care Planning Workshop at the 7th SSCWP Annual Conference.

Focussed on promoting the importance of talking about advanced decisions, and dignity in dying, the Panel (pictured) and delegates discussed advanced care planning, what the individual wants, and where the preferred place of death is.

September 2010 - Wider Impact commissioned to deliver an independent evaluation of London & Quadrant Housing Association youth work delivery.
Wider Impact has been commissioned by London & Quadrant Housing Association (L&Q) to carry out an independent evaluation and review of the organisation's youth delivery. August 2010 - Wider Impact works with London based Coin Street Community Builders carry out a Leamington Spa based feasibility study.
Wider Impact has been commissioned to support Coin Street Community Builders to carry out an independent feasibility study into to location of Leamington Spa based Bath Place Community Venture.
The commission has involved questionnaire design, workshops, surveying local people and partner agency members, data analysis, meeting key partner agency members, business planning, and preparing data and information for inclusion within a major, £1m plus funding application to Community Builders.

July 2010 - Wider Impact delivers an independent review of the West Midlands Care Ambassador Scheme.
Funded by Skills for Care West Midlands and commissioned by the Staffordshire Social Care Workforce Partnership (SSCWP) and the Black Country Partnership for Care (BCPC), Wider Impact has carried out independent scoping research into the West Midlands Care Ambassadors Scheme.
The commission has involved:
- Researching / scoping current Care Ambassador activities in all sub-regions
- Compiling information related to current recruitment initiatives; and
- Initiatives linked to Care Ambassador development
- Compiling a 'lessons learnt' log
- Making recommendations for implementation of an enhanced Care Ambassador scheme, which would be sustainable and financially self-supporting and meet the three key aims of the scheme

June 2010 - Wider Impact thanked for delivering an independent evaluation of the role of West Midlands Police Youth Crime Officers.
The overall aim of the work has been to carry out an independent evaluation of the effectiveness of the Birmingham based Youth Crime Officers (YCOs) in relation to their prime objective of reducing youth offending by enforcement and intervention measures. The final report has provided recommendations on the 'way forward' for the YCOs, with particular reference to ensuring innovative and best use of valuable resources, and ensuring a clear demonstration of 'Value for Money', supporting the outcomes of the Youth Offending Service and West Midlands Police.
Sergeant Tom Dobrovic of the Safer Birmingham Partnership says, - 'I am very grateful to Wider Impact for their comprehensive report with reasoned recommendation, which will enable West Midlands Police and Birmingham Youth Offending Service to further develop the crucial role of the Police Youth Crime Officer to achieve the joint aims of preventing and reducing offending by young people. May 2010 - Wider Impact Consultancy Makes a Mark with Young Entrepreneurs at Sandon Business and Enterprise College
"Making business learning fun!"
May 2010 Sandon Business and Enterprise College and Wider Impact are grateful for the support of local young entrepreneurs in enabling a series of innovative Make 'Your' Mark Days, when Year 9 and 10 students from the College have been provided with the skills to develop their confidence within an innovative and positive 'business' related learning environment.
Objectives of the day included developing delegate's personal skills and abilities in areas such as team working, learning from others, knowledge building, interviewing, questioning, researching, planning, visualising, expressing beliefs, body language, presenting and demonstrating a 'can do' and confident approach to life and future challenges.
Aims of the day included encouraging students to work in teams and as individuals, taking advantage of opportunities available in the form of 'business' workshops, attended by young business people / entrepreneurs from the local business community; aimed at demonstrating to the young people that they have the opportunities to develop the skills and confidence required to achieve their full potential!
Local companies and organisations represented include Michelin, Hanley Economic Building Society, Grisdale Lesniak Swann, Inspired Film and Video, Wonderweb Media and Helen Hughes, Life Coach.
David Lownds of Hanley Economic Building Society says, 'This is an exciting and innovative example of how local business can support our local schools and colleges. The days have been all the more special as young entrepreneurs representing all of our companies have been passing on their own experiences of their education and progress through dynamic and successful businesses and organisations.'

January 2010 - Wider Impact Delivers an innovative 'Confidence Workshop' aimed at local people whose confidence is at a low-ebb.
Building on over 25 years of experience of supporting and evaluating UK based initiatives and projects aimed at supporting those most in need of support and guidance,Wider Impact Consultancy Workshops utilise tools such as a 'case study' video and peer-led group work to people whose confidence is at a low-ebb. Issues raised included tackling issues such as long-term unemployment, illness, a lack of appropriate qualifications and / or work-experience, and concern about attending meetings and job interviews.
As a delegate points out, 'This has been an extremely useful workshop, as it will help me re-build my confidence and prove that I am not on my own. I have enjoyed the Workshop as it has been 'fun' and informative. Confidence is so important to us all, and as the Workshop clearly points out - If you believe in yourself, you can achieve unbelievable things!'
